Independent Opera Company Concert series with Luke Norvell
In this, the third concert in this exciting new series, IOC presents the rising new star of opera, tenor Luke Norvell in an electrifying performance including selections from his signature roles.
This exciting program begins with the cavatina sung by the title character of Gounod’s famous opera Faust, in which Faust celebrates his new-found youth by serenading the innocent Marguerite. Moving through the dreamy poet of Tosti's lovely Belle Époche-era salon piece "Ideale" to the passionate Prince from Rusalka by Dvořák to the triumphant "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" ("You are my heart's delight"), perhaps the most famous of all Lehár’s operetta arias. Luke also treats us to his show-stopping interpretations of two famous Verdi tenor roles, Alfredo from La Traviata who is happily in love (at least, at this point in the opera), and the careless and lascivious Duke from Rigoletto.
This fantastic addition to IOC's Stars in Concert series is history in the making and not to be missed!
This program includes English-language subtitles.
